Sometimes, creating art feels like a mysterious urge. Could there be a message in that?
I’ve spent much of my life taking self-development courses, at age forty-seven I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. This was after years of working in the corporate world and yet I still felt without a meaningful direction.
It wasn’t until I started teaching art to others that I discovered that creativity is more than a mysterious need to paint something. The images in your mind have a message just for you. Waiting to be seen and understood.
You just need to ask the right questions. Your internal images then become a bridge from the subconcious to your concious mind.
There is joy, surprise and wonder in the creative processes.
Your finished artwork becomes a touchstone to your inner wisdom - reflected back to you from your painted canvas.
